PAS Outpatients - Patient Initiated Follow Up Pending List (PIFU)

PIFU is a Patient Initiated Follow Up which lets patients initiate their own follow-up appointment when their condition requires it, rather than attending regular clinic appointments at timed intervals when they may not benefit from being seen.Patients identified for PIFU should be added to a specific follow-up waiting list under the relevant clinician. Ensure PIF is selected when choosing the follow up pending list.

Each patient should have a coded comment “PIF” added to the Remarks Field 10 to enable PIFU management to be monitored. This field should not be over-ridden with any other coded comment.

The clinician will provide a timeframe for the PIFU which should be recorded as “To be seen (TBS – due date).
