| STOPPED | A | Treatment already given/ongoing | This is used where treatment has already started, either in outpatients or inpatients. It is expected this will be used until the patient is discharged as treatment has begun and the RTT pathway has ended. This is not part of an RTT pathway. | 1. Treatment already given or ongoing |
| CONTINUE | F | Refer for further investigation on the same condition | This is used where a patient requires subsequent activity for the same condition. This can include a follow-up appointment, being sent for diagnostics/investigations, a tertiary referral or being referred to another clinician for the same condition. | 1. Subsequent activity, - investigation or diagnostic test. 2. Subsequent activity, - referred to another clinician (same condition) |

| STOP | H | Treatment commenced in outpatients: | This is used where treatment is commenced in outpatients, maybe with the prescribing of treatment drugs, a minor procedure or the fitting of a medical device as first definitive treatment. | 1. | STOP | I | Decision to commence a period of watchful wait | This is used where there is a decision not to treat, no further contact is required, the patient has decided not to be treated or the decision is made to return the patient to Primary Care/RMC | 1. | STOP | J | Decision not to treat/be treated | This is used where there is a decision not to treat, no further contact is required, the patient has decided not to be treated or the decision is made to return the patient to Primary Care/RMC This is used for patients currently on an RTT pathway, for whom a new condition has been identified requiring treatment by the same specialty. |

| TRANSFER | T | Decision to transfer for treatment in secondary care outside of RCHT | This is used where it has not been clinically appropriate to start treatment and this situation is unchanged. This is not part of an RTT pathway. | 1. Transfer – Plymouth, Bristol, London, etc. |
| REMAINS STOPPED | B | Part of watchful waiting | A decision to treat them in an outpatient setting or by adding the patient to the inpatient or day case waiting list. This starts a new RTT clock. | 1. Part of active monitoring |
