Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration (E P M A)
E P M A has being introduced by the trust to improve patient safety and increase efficiency. Some of the benefits are:
- Drug allergy and interaction checking
- Reduces drug errors
- Speeds up dispensing TTAs
- Provides detailed drug information and eventually drug history
- Can be accessed from any PC in the Trust
- No more chart re-writes
- Legible prescriptions and signatures
- Reduces time clinicians spend auditing prescribing/administration
